EmpowerHER EmpowerME Mother-Daughter Summit
“When women and girls rise, their communities and countries rise with them.”
— Michelle Obama
The relationship that a girl shares with her mother can affect her sense of self-esteem, self-worth, sense of identity, and her ability to make friends. Daughters tend to imitate and identify with their mothers in deep and powerful ways. A mother's tone and body language programs her daughter with attitudes that affect her for the rest of her life.
Social media plays a big role in damaging a female’s self worth and image. Studies show that social media use appear to cause a decrease in self-esteem, especially among girls between the ages of 10 and 14. Today our girls are less connected to self and much more used to comparing themselves to others than any generation before.
When a mother struggles with low self esteem she tends to be very critical of her daughter. We have higher rates of mental health issues, such as anger, depression, and suicidal thinking among women and girls today.
Our Founder, Olivia Coffey, has been creating mentorship programs and pouring into the lives of children and families for 30 years as a Professional School Counselor. Her vision was to not only host a women’s conference, but one that gave mothers and daughters a platform to see, hear, and understand each other through an empathetic lens in the same space. This is what makes EmpowerHer, EmpowerMe such a unique and necessary experience. The women, alongside their daughters will participate in sessions focusing on financial literacy, mental health and wellness, social and emotional development, character building, and leaderships skills.
We are a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) committed to helping families and youth. Our mission is to empower parents and restore and strengthen families by providing resources, mentorship, events and activities focusing on social and life skills.
We are excited about our EmpowerHer EmpowerMe Mother Daughter Summit for moms, mother figures and daughters ages 8-18 in March 2025! It is a premiere one-day gathering for mothers and daughters to engage in hands-on activities and transparent conversations around strength, self-worth, and purpose...TOGETHER! Our goal is to help the families strengthen, restore, and enhance relationships.
The old African proverb, “it takes a village to raise a child” is more necessary today than ever before. Youth EmpowerMe Foundation, Inc. is “the village” for families! The speakers and vendors at the summit are mental health and wellness professionals and entrepreneurs. They will provide education, resources and mentorship for the women and girls.
Highlights include Mommy and Me Yoga , breakfast, lunch, a vendor marketplace, 360 Photo Booth, EmpowerMe Mom (mom only) panel discussion and separate sessions for preteens, tweens and teens. This year we have included a Mommy and Me Fashion Show as our closing event! Family members of models will be able to attend the show.
We need your help to make this event a success by becoming a sponsor or making a donation!
Our sponsorship package options include summit tickets, digital and social media advertising for your business or organization. We hope you will support this initiative to uplift women and girls.
With Gratitude,
Olivia Coffey, Founder
